Oola is a former elevator repair shop
converted to a super cool restaurant at SOMA.
A two-story metal and glass door swings
out to reveal a row of nine white leather drum-like stools in front of a bar
topped with reclaimed wood.
A daring mix of high
design and industrial grit, including rough brick walls. It's a style that has
been raised to a high art in Europe
Décor is a perfect balance of cool and
warm.
We started with grilled octopus with
popcorn, paprika and chili oil, which was tender and moist.
For entrée, we tried baby back short ribs
with soy ginger glaze and red cabbage apple slaw.
We also had Ora King Salmon w/
ratatouille, spinach, tapenade and herb mouse.
Food is delicious, unassuming and yet
satisfying.
